Yotam Cohen, a family member of the detainees, said: \”We hope that by putting more pressure on the government, the war cabinet will show signs of a ceasefire.
Because as time goes by we see more and more detainees being brought back in body bags and more and more soldiers dying in Gaza.
We want the bleeding to stop.

At the same time, divisions emerged within the government.
Benny Gantz, a member of the war cabinet, gave a televised speech on Saturday night asking the government to complete the post-war governance plan for Gaza by June 8 or else he would lead his party to withdraw from the emergency coalition government.
Gantz said he asked the government to reach a consensus on the military operation in Gaza to determine solutions to issues such as post-war governance in Gaza, the release of Israeli detainees, easing the situation in northern Israel, and normalizing relations with Arab countries.
