Tesla\’s new U.S. Model 3 price increases for second time in a month

Less than a month after its launch, Tesla (TSLA-US) has raised the price of the Model 3 high-performance version in the US market for the second time.

Less than a month after its launch, Tesla (TSLA-US) has raised the price of the Model 3 high-performance version in the US market for the second time.
On May 17, Tesla’s official US website showed that the price of the Model 3 High-Performance Edition in the US market had been increased by US$1,000 to US$54,990.
Less than a month ago, Tesla launched the Model 3 high-performance version before releasing its first-quarter earnings on April 23. The starting price was $52,990. However, within a few days, Tesla raised the price of the new model from $52,990 to $53,990. Five is the second increase.
Unlike the other two versions of the Model 3, the Model 3 Performance is eligible for a $7,500 federal electric vehicle tax credit, which brings the price paid by eligible buyers down to $47,490 or even $47,740 for the long-range version.
However to qualify for the tax credit the vehicle must cost less than $55,000 which means customers cannot select any paid exterior paint options Stealth Gray is the only option on the vehicle that is included in the vehicle\’s starting price.
At the same time, Tesla’s preferential activities in the Chinese market are still increasing.
On the 17th, Tesla China’s official Weibo announced the launch of two plans with 0 down payment/0 interest for Model 3 and Model Y.
There was no 0-interest plan for Model 3 orders during Tesla’s previous event on April 24.
Tesla shares closed up 0.5% on Thursday at $174.84 per share.
The stock is down nearly 30% so far this year.
